What We Believe About Mental Wellness: The Let It Be Philosophy

3 min readBy Timir

In short

We believe wellness tools should be calm, private, and free to begin. That journaling helps most when it's small and honest. That you don't need fixing — just a safe space to understand yourself better.

  • Wellness should feel like exhaling, not like another thing to optimise.
  • Small, kind habits — three journal lines, one breath — beat grand resolutions.
  • Privacy is the foundation of honest self-expression, not a premium feature.

Behind every product is a set of beliefs. Here are ours.

Wellness should feel like exhaling

Too much of the wellness world feels like another performance. Streaks to maintain, levels to reach, progress to demonstrate to an app that tracks whether you're doing enough.

We wanted the opposite. Let It Be is designed to feel like a slow exhale — a space where you can put the noise down for a minute without being scored, judged, or told to optimise yourself.

Small habits beat grand resolutions

You don't need a 45-minute morning routine to improve your life. Three honest journal lines. One breathing exercise. A single affirmation that actually lands.

The research backs this up: tiny, repeated practices compound. A three-line journal entry every few days builds more self-awareness than a beautiful notebook filled once and abandoned.

You don't need fixing

We don't believe you're broken. We believe life is sometimes hard, and that having a gentle tool to process the hard parts makes a real difference. Let It Be isn't a self-improvement programme. It's a safe space for what you're already carrying.

Privacy is a foundation, not a feature

Your inner life — your worries, your hopes, your unfiltered thoughts — deserves genuine privacy. Not "we encrypt your data" privacy. On-your-device, we-literally-cannot-read-it privacy.

We built Let It Be this way because honest writing requires a safe space. And a safe space means nobody is looking over your shoulder — including us.

The tools should be calm

On an anxious night, the last thing you need is a busy interface with notifications, badges, and confetti. Our design is intentionally quiet: warm colours, soft typography, and space to breathe. The calm isn't lazy design — it's a deliberate choice.

Free to begin, always

The core of Let It Be is free. Not "free for seven days." Not "free but the useful parts cost money." Free to journal, free to breathe, free to find an affirmation that steadies you.

Pro unlocks more — all affirmations, more breathing options, backup, themes. But the foundation? Always free. Because the person who needs a calming tool at 3am shouldn't have to check their subscription status first.

Not a substitute for professional care

We need to say this clearly: Let It Be supports your wellbeing, but it is not therapy. It is not medical advice. If you're struggling with a clinical condition, please reach out to a qualified professional.

What Let It Be offers is a gentle companion between sessions, between appointments, between the hard moments. A place to process, to track, to breathe, and to be honest with yourself in private.

What this means in practice

Every decision we make passes through these beliefs:

  • Should we add streaks? No. They create guilt, not habits.
  • Should we gamify journaling? No. Your inner life isn't a game.
  • Should we sync entries to the cloud? No. Privacy first.
  • Should we add social features? No. This is a private space.
  • Should we show ads? Never. Not between your thoughts.

These aren't limitations. They're the point.

The invitation

If these beliefs resonate, Let It Be is free to try. It's a guided journaling app for anxiety, overthinking, and self-reflection — calm, private, and in your pocket whenever you need it.
