Privacy policy for Curio
Last updated: 30 September 2026
Curio has no account and no sign in. This page explains the little it does with information, and names every third party involved.
My progress stays on my phone
Everything the game remembers, the boxes opened, curios collected, stars, settings, a box left half open, is saved on the device. It is included in the phone's own backup (Android Auto Backup) if that is switched on. The game keeps no server copy of it. "Reset my record" in Settings deletes it from the device.
New boxes
The game may download new sets of boxes from letitbeworld.com. The request carries a token from Firebase App Check that proves it came from the real app; it does not identify anyone. If the download is not available, the game builds the same boxes on the phone instead.
Ads
Curio shows ads through Google AdMob. Ads are requested as non-personalised by default. AdMob may process device information such as an IP address and advertising identifier to deliver and measure ads, as described in Google's ad technology policy. There are no ads in the first fifty minutes of play, and buying anything in the shop turns off the ads that appear between boxes.
Purchases
Purchases are handled entirely by Google Play. The game never sees payment details.
Analytics
The game sends anonymous usage events (for example, that a box was opened) to Google Firebase Analytics, so the game can be improved. These events are not linked to a name, email address or any other personal identifier.
Notifications
The game asks once, after the first drawer of stars fills, whether a reminder is wanted. At most one a day. It can be turned off in the phone's settings at any time.
Children
Curio is rated for everyone and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
